TCMC-1000 Magnesium Chloride Based Toilet Chemical Product Description and Applications TCMC-1000 is a ready-to-use, all-season product for filling compartmentalized toilet systems, including most chemical toilets whether portable land-based toilets or toilets on trains, buses, aircraft, and boats. Its unique proprietary formulation based on magnesium chloride solution, provides several advantages over methanol-based and glycol-based toilet chemicals, which have been the industry standards for many years. TCMC-1000 requires no mixing or special handling, eliminating costly mistakes and providing consistently effective performance. It meets or exceeds the typical railroad freeze point requirements of -20° F, with a freeze point of -40° F, for freeze protection and bacterial control including fragrance and dye requirements. (Note: dilution with water will increase the freeze point.) TCMC-1000 is not classified as hazardous by the DOT. Environmentally friendly, TCMC-1000 is not regulated by the DOT, CERCLA, or SARA. It treats toilet wastes to meet sanitary wastewater treatment regulations as well as EPA, state, and local requirements. TCMC-1000’s very low COD content greatly reduces the often high wastewater treatment costs associated with glycol-based products. Product Benefits TCMC-1000 was developed to be the most effective toilet filling product available. All important functions of a toilet chemical have been optimized to the extent possible in TCMC-1000, making it a clearly superior product but without a premium price. Strong and long-lasting bacterial control. A pleasant mint fragrance that serves as a very effective and durable odor mask. A non-staining and non-photosensitive dark blue dye visual mask. A broad range of corrosion inhibitors to protect stainless steel, steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, copper and solder. Does not attack most plastics or rubber. Contains at least 10-20 times the reserve alkalinity of most other products on the market and achieve excellent results in corrosion tests, such as ASTM G36. Freeze protection down to -40°F. No mixing or special handling required. Very low Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) levels relative to glycol-containing products. No measuring or mixing is required. Most toilets use five gallons of TCMC-1000 of product per service. A change cycle of 14 days is recommended. TCMC-1000 is an all-season product, so no switching from a winter to a summer formulation is necessary. Caution: Wear goggles and protective clothing. Avoid contact with eyes or prolonged skin contact. If contact occurs, wash eyes with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Wash from skin with water.
