Product Description and Applications

Natural Gas Dehydrator System Cleaner is a unique product specially formulated to remove scale, sludge, and organic fouling from heating coils, vessel walls, and horizontal surfaces in dehydrator systems. It also helps to clean inside surfaces in pipelines and pumps.

Remarkably, Dehydrator System Cleaner contains no hazardous ingredients, no caustics, no acids, no silicates, no glycol ethers or other solvents, and contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It is biodegradable, non-abrasive, non-flammable and phosphate-free. When used as directed, Dehydrator System Cleaner will not damage paint, darken or pit aluminum, nor deteriorate plastics or rubber. It produces no harsh or hazardous fumes.

Proper Use for Health and Safety

Dehydrator System Cleaner can be used in several ways to restore dehydrator systems to good working condition. Over time all dehydrators accumulate mineral scale which can coat heat transfer surfaces, making it difficult to maintain operating temperatures. Scale can also accumulate on pump impellers, inside pump housings, and inside piping, all of which can restrict flow rates. Oil can also build up in the liquid phase and foul heating coils as it bakes to a tarry consistency on the hot metal. General dirt accumulation leads to sludge formation which can plug lines and pumps.

Dehydrator System Cleaner will remove scale, fouling and sludge if applied by any of the following methods:

1. If the dehydrator is shut down, drained and opened, Dehydrator System Cleaner can be sprayed directly onto the surfaces to be cleaned at anywhere from full strength down to a 3:1 aqueous dilution, depending upon the difficulty of the cleaning job. Allow it to soak into the scale and dirt for 5 minutes to 30 minutes, and then rinse off with a pressure washer. Repeat as necessary.

2. If the dehydrator is shut down and drained, but not opened, it can be filled with water and heated to 100º F. Add Dehydrator System Cleaner at a rate of 10 gallons per 1000 gallons of water in the system. Allow it to soak at 100º F for 4-8 hours. Drain and repeat as necessary.

3. Dehydrator System Cleaner can also be used when your dehydrator solution has reached its maximum allowable water content and is ready for on-site reconcentration. Dehydrator Cleaner can be added to the vessel contents at a rate of 10 gallons per 1000 of glycol/water. Since the active ingredients of Dehydrator System Cleaner boil at a higher temperature than water, they stay in solution in the glycol as the dehydrator contents are circulated through the external heating/boil-off system. Dirt and sludge removed by the Dehydrator System Cleaner is then removed in the filtration system in the external heating loop.
