Product Specifications
Appearance Clear liquid Odor Amine-like odor Flash Point 199°F Specific Gravity 1.01-1.04 (H20 at 30.2°F) pH 7.0-7.5 Stability Stable GraffitiGone General Use Instructions
Apply an even coat of GraffitiGone to the surface to be cleaned with a sprayer, rag, or brush. Wipe off with a wet or dry cloth, a wet sponge, or rinse with a water spray. A second application, a longer waiting period, or moderate rubbing with a brush may be necessary for very difficult jobs. Painted surfaces should be rinsed afterward with a wet cloth, sponge, or water spray to remove residue. On porous surfaces like concrete or cinder block, wet the surface with water, spray on GraffitiGone, brush with a wire or stiff-bristled brush (no hard scrubbing necessary), wait a minute, and rinse off with water. Try first on a small, inconspicuous area when cleaning sensitive surfaces. Not recommended for use on vinyl.Precautions:
Always wear rubber or plastic gloves to prevent any drying, cracking, or irritation of skin. Wear safety glasses or goggles, if splashing of GraffitiGone is possible during application and removal. Wash any areas of skin contact thoroughly after use of this product.

Detailed Use Instructions for GraffitiGone
Additives Inc. has developed a series of graffiti removal products to address the great variety of situations that may be encountered with this nuisance. Our general purpose product, GraffitiGone, can be used for most graffiti removal jobs that can be handled by one person using the typical spray-on, wipe-off or rinse-off approach.
Sometimes a water spray will not thoroughly rinse off the graffiti that has been dissolved by GraffitiGone. In some of these situations, it is also impractical to assist the rinsing with the use of rags or brushes. For these situations, it is best to use a pressure sprayer (moderate pressure) to applyGraffitiGone, and follow by a spray rinse using Additives Inc.'s GraffitiGone Rinse.
GraffitiGone Rinse is a cleaner and rinse aid that was designed to get beneath and lift off dissolved and softened graffiti, without dulling the finish. It is much more effective than water at removing thick and gummy coatings, and often will allow graffiti to be removed in a touchless method with pressure sprayers alone. GraffitiGone Rinse should be followed by a water rinse when the surface appears clean. Not recommended for use on vinyl.
Some more specific use instructions for GraffitiGone are given in the following sections:
Metal (street signs, storage sheds, etc.)
Bare metal is very easy to clean. Follow the general directions given above.
Painted metal can be more problematic. If trial on a small, inconspicuous area does not yield any negative results, follow the general directions (be sure not to leave on too long, apply too many times, or rub excessively, as the base paint may be removed as well). After the graffiti are removed, always rinse the surface with water to prevent residual product from continuing to act on the base paint. If the graffiti cannot be completely removed by this method, try brushing the product into the graffiti with a brush, then rinse. Repeated applications may also be effective. (Again, situations may vary widely. Be careful not to use bristles that are too stiff and may erode the base paint, or scrub too hard or too long.)Street and highway signs vary in their construction. In the Denver, Colorado area we have found basically two types of sign surfaces. Most of the municipal public works departments use signs painted with one of several grades of 3M ink. These inks are very fragile and do not hold up at all to graffiti remover of any kind. The city and state road departments are trying new graffiti-resistant inks, which are very durable, as well as clear overlay films that resist graffiti and stickers. The microscopic reflective beads that are baked onto the metal of some signs do not suffer damage from GraffitiGone.
Marble, tile, Plexiglas, etc.
Hard, smooth, non-porous surfaces such as these should present no special problems. They should come clean easily just as bare metal does. Unlike some other graffiti removal products. GraffitiGone does not create clouding or any other degradation of Plexiglas when cleaned by the general directions method.Cement, cinder block, concrete, brick, etc.
These types of hard, porous surfaces usually require a bit of "elbow grease" to remove graffiti that penetrate into the recesses of the surface. The first (and important) step is to wet the entire surface with water. This fills the pores and prevents both further absorption of graffiti material and ineffective loss of product. Spray on product and allow a brief period for graffiti to loosen, but do not wait so long that product drains off or evaporates. Then scrub moderately with a wire or stiff-bristled brush and rinse with water.Tough or aged graffiti may require repeated applications and scrubbing. While GraffitiGone has proven very effective in this type of application, etching of the surface can occur. This faint lightening of the surface might be prevented if a softer-bristled brush is used, perhaps necessitating more applications and scrubbing. Experimentation may be required in any specific situation, and it may be necessary to strike some balance of trade-offs.
Wood
Directions for use on painted wood are nearly the same as those for painted metal (see above). Wood paint (flat latex, polyurethane oil, acrylic latex, stain, etc.) will wear off if the graffiti remover is left on too long or scrubbed too hard. Heavier coats are less likely to show marring. Recessed areas of rough wood should be lightly brushed with a soft-bristled brush and then wiped clean. Perform these steps quickly to minimize any damage that may occur to the paint. As with painted metal, always rinse with water afterward. Given the many variables present with painted wood surfaces, trial on a small, inconspicuous area is recommended.Bare wood does not often yield very successful results. Due to its extreme porosity, it usually retains a "ghost" of the graffiti markings, even when pre-wetted and scrubbed with a brush.
Rustoleum-coated metal
A moderate coating of Rustoleum on metal should hold up well and come clean easily with a simple spray, wipe, and rinse.Hard plastic (playground equipment, etc.)
Hard plastic, such as the UV-resistant polyethylene used for playground equipment, usually cleans easily. In some cases, brushing with a soft-bristle brush may be required before wiping clean.Surfaces not recommended
GraffitiGone should not be used on soft surfaces such as vinyl (i.e., seat covers found on some buses) or soft plastic. As always, trial on a small, inconspicuous area is the best indicator.Precautions
Always wear rubber or plastic gloves to prevent any drying, cracking, or irritation of skin. Wear safety glasses or goggles when splashing of GraffitiGone is possible during application and removal. Wash any areas of skin contact thoroughly after use of this product.
