Product Description and Applications
Alkaline Aluminum Cleaner and Brightener can be used to both clean and brighten aluminum in one step. Its unique combination of ingredients includes a powerful surfactant system that effectively cleans grease, oil, and grime; and descalants to remove scale and oxidation. To minimize streaking and spotting, a sheeting agent helps spread the solution evenly. A time-delayed thickener allows easy spray application but slows runoff once the cleaner/brightener is on the surface to be cleaned. Corrosion inhibitors help protect aluminum and other metals without impeding cleaning/brightening action.
The Aluminum Cleaner and Brightener removes oil, grease, and scale, allowing brightening ingredients to reach the metal surface. As a result, cleaning and brightening can often be accomplished in one step. The Cleaner and Brightener thickens after it reaches the target object and spreads evenly, allowing vertical surfaces to be cleaned effectively with a minimum of streaking and spotting. Its alkaline formulation produces a much lower level of harsh fumes than acidic cleaners and a significantly lower overall level of hazards to the user.

For spray applications, apply an even coat of Aluminum Cleaner and Brightener with a low to moderate pressure sprayer, working from side to side and from bottom to top to avoid streaking. Allow 1-5 minutes of soak time and rinse off with a high pressure water sprayer. Some brushing may be needed in very dirty or very dull scaled areas.
Aluminum Cleaner and Brightener can be used at full strength for tough jobs. For dip tank cleaning operations, use the unthickened version at 1 part to 5-10 parts water. For transportation equipment cleaning, use it at 1 part to 5-15 parts water.
Precaution:
This is a very alkaline product that can cause skin irritation and burns if not rinsed off promptly. It can cause severe irritation and tissue damage to eyes and mucous membranes. Always wear proper protective equipment, including goggles, face shield, impermeable alkali-resistant coveralls, and shoe coverings. Consult the product Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before using.
